Back in November, The Independent asked: “Is the Mumford moment over?”
As of January 7th, the answer is a resounding ‘no’. Mumford & Sons’ debut album Sigh No More reached number one on both iTunes and Amazon, proving that some heartfelt, banjo-heavy tunes can do battle with the Top 40 mainstays. Not surprisingly, I’ve been sitting on this post for a few days–as a longtime Mumford & Sons junkie, I wanted to give the boys their due and talk about what this success really means for new-folk. That post will probably come soon, but I’m still in lethargic holiday mode. For now, I’m just celebrating the achievement and listening to “Little Lion Man”.
